Costumes are equipment to wear in the players costume slots (as opposed to the regular equipment slots). Costumes can be ...
- bought from the Pearl Shop
- you can buy Designs from NPC, craft the equipment at an Costume Workshop (Calpheon has them) and use them in equipment slots - or turn these specific items into a costume with an Equipment Tailoring Coupon (bought from the Pearl Shop)
- obtain certain equipment from quests or loot and wear them as equipment or turn them into a costume with an Equipment Tailoring Coupon (bought from the Pearl Shop)
Warning: The ingame information displayed at some designs or clothes is wrong, it is NOT called Costume Exchange Coupon, but Equipment Tailoring Coupon! It is available for 1500 Pearl in the Pearl Shop! If you use this coupon then the stats from the equipment are transferred to the costume allowing you to have stat benefits from items in both equipment and costume slot.
Design-based costumes or quest-obtained costumes can usually not be dyed.
